CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2013!
Graduation Information
Time: The Commencement exercises are Tuesday, June 18th, and will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. at the UCI Bren Center, 100 Mesa Road, Irvine, CA. Seniors are to report to the NHS Gym by 2:30 p.m. Seniors will be bussed to the graduation site and released to parents at the end of the ceremony. Seniors should NOT bring cell phones, money, purses, yearbooks, cameras, flowers or valuables into the gym or to the Bren Center on graduation day.
Tickets: Admission to the ceremony will be by ticket only. Each graduate’s family is given two free tickets. There will be a $5.00 charge for each additional ticket. There will be no ticket sales at the door. Tickets are pre-sale only and are required for admittance to the facility. Please come to the NHS Administration Office if you would like to purchase additional tickets. Guests will not be permitted to bring balloons or noisemakers into the ceremony.
Seating: The Bren Center will open for seating at 4:15 p.m. Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Handicapped seating (wheelchairs or crutches) is provided at the top of the stadium seating areas.
Parking: There should be ample parking in the parking structure next to the Bren Center if families carpool as much as possible. There is a $10 charge for parking at the Bren Center.
Diplomas: Graduates receive their diploma covers during the ceremony. Students will need to pick up their diplomas at Northwood on Thursday, June 20th between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. Graduates with unfulfilled obligations, such as non-returned textbooks and/or library books, unpaid fines, or un-served detentions, will have their diplomas held by the school until such obligations are fulfilled.
Photographs: Professional photographers will be taking photos of graduates and their Teacher Advisor in a formal setting before the ceremony. During the ceremony, parents and guests may NOT approach the stage or disrupt the flow of seniors by taking personal photos or video from anywhere but their seats. Please note that there will be no room in the auditorium for a camera tripod. In order to preserve the dignified tone of the ceremony, we ask parents and guests to remain in their seats throughout the ceremony. Parents may take photos after the ceremony outside the facility. Parents and family will be invited to join the seniors outside the exit doors to the Bren Center in an open quad area lined with trees. Parents are asked to wait for their graduates in that location. |
